The following was received on Dec. 20, 2003:

"It started snowing about 7am today, and we have about 30" so far today. Official Winter snow season begins tomorrow, so this is right on time. I have been helping shovel snow most of the day. Can't let it build up on the response boats or boat docks, so it is something that has to be tended too every couple hours until it stops.

Pic # 1 is one of me in about 30" of snow behind the apartments.

Pic # 2 is snows the snow build-up on the Chinese place next door. I have not eaten there yet, but people say its good.

Pic # 3 is across the street from my apartment building. People all over town are rapidly digging out, cause you don't ever know what is in store for tomorrow.

Pic # 4 Just a peaceful setting in the trees on the way to work. This is where the eagles normally hang out during the day.

The official operations build-up orders cam in today. We go on 24-7 operations starting Tuesday the 23rd at 0800, and stand down from the operations guard on the 6th of January. This means there is no time off for no one over the holidays. Since the boat crews are going to be running themselves ragged, the rest of us, especially us old guys, will be doing a lot of the normal maintenance duties, and snow removal. It may be harder to get ahold of me until later at night, but if more than a couple days go buy, I will call down home using one of my phone cards.

love you all"
